Wine Tour of Adelaide Hills

Adelaide Hills is recognised as one of Australia’s foremost “cool” climate viticultural regions. After free hotel pick-up, you will travel leisurely through the beautiful rolling green vista of the Adelaide Hills to Mount Lofty Summit.  Here, if weather is good, you can see for miles – right across the City of Adelaide and the glorious Piccadilly Valley.  From here, the wine tasting adventures begin as we make our way through the Adelaide Hills.

We wander through the vibrant and happy villages that make up the Adelaide Hills including Crafers and Stirling, with a short visit to the Organic Market before visiting historic Hahndorf.  No visit to the Adelaide Hills is complete without Hahndorf – one of the most famous and beautiful villages of them all.    Here there is plenty of time for you to take a walk up and down the Main Street, exploring the beautiful shops and offerings.  Hahndorf is proud of her German heritage and the beautiful tree-lined street offers much to see and do.     From here we head to local cellar doors which may include but not be limited to, Hahndorf Hill Wines; Shaw and Smith or Lane wineries where you can taste world famous and award winning white and red wines.     There are over 50 cellar doors in the Adelaide Hills region and wine makers strive to create wine that is enjoyed the world over.   Depending where you want to go and what you want to do, if time permits, there’s more to see as we venture further into the heart of the Hills to beautiful Gumeracha and beautiful boutique wineries such as Chain of Ponds wines.  The Adelaide Hills region is described as “A fairytale so close to Adelaide” – and we could not agree more!
